Fonthill Lumber has expanded their operation to include a retail based store at their location in Welland ON. This retail facility will serve the building and contractoring community in the Niagara Region and beyond.We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Store Clerk with construction and carpentry experience to join our team.
As a Store Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the store. Duties:
Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with assistance
Answer customer inquiries and provide accurate information about products and promotions
Process customer transactions using cash registers or other electronic devices
Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and arranging displays
Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock is low
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations
Follow all safety and security procedures to protect company assets
Skills:
Solid organizational skills to maintain an orderly store workplace
Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone
Exceptional customer service skills to provide a positive shopping experience
Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash
Ability to sell products by effectively communicating their features and benefits
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for assisting diverse customers
Cash handling experience to accurately process payments and give change
Upselling skills to recommend additional products or services to customers
Familiarity with technology sales is an advantage
Computer Skills an asset
Forklift training is an asset
Possess a G Drivers Licence an asset
Heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be involved
