Riverview Steel is looking for a Customs Coordinator / Specialist to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting our shipping and logistics operations, with a focus on customs documentation and cross-border shipments between Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review customs and cross-border shipping documentation
Coordinate import and export shipments
Ensure documentation is accurate and complete prior to shipment
Work with customs brokers, carriers, customers, and internal departments
Maintain shipment and customs records
Verify customer information, including Tax ID/EIN numbers where required
Assist with resolving customs or border-related issues
Support the Shipping and Logistics departments with day-to-day activities
Ensure shipments comply with applicable customs requirements and company procedures
Qualifications
Previous experience with customs, shipping, logistics, or cross-border transportation is preferred
Robust understanding of Canada/U.S. shipping documentation is an asset
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Positive written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Comfortable communicating with customs brokers, carriers, customers, and internal departments
Experience in a manufacturing or steel environment is an asset
