Genuine Kitchens is a locally owned custom cabinetry and millwork company based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We specialize in high-quality custom kitchens, cabinetry, and architectural millwork, with a strong focus on craftsmanship, attention to detail, and exceptional finished products.
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented CNC Operator / Junior Cabinetmaker to join our custom cabinetry and millwork manufacturing team. We are looking for someone who has at least junior-level experience in carpentry, cabinetmaking, woodworking or a similar trade and is interested in developing solid CNC machining skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC machinery used to cut, drill and machine custom cabinet and millwork components
Set up jobs and confirm programs, materials, dimensions and machining requirements prior to production
Load and unload sheet goods and other materials safely and efficiently
Label, organize and prepare components for subsequent stages of production
Perform routine CNC cleaning and basic preventative maintenance
Monitor tooling condition and report damaged or worn tooling
Assist with cabinet assembly, material preparation and other cabinetmaking and millwork tasks
Safely operate woodworking tools and machinery appropriate to the employee’s level of training
Qualifications
At least junior-level experience in carpentry, cabinetmaking, woodworking, millwork or a related trade
A practical understanding of basic woodworking and construction methods
Familiarity with materials such as plywood, MDF, melamine, hardwood and other sheet goods
Good mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
Dependability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
A safety-conscious approach to working around industrial woodworking machinery
Willingness to learn current equipment, software and manufacturing processes
Experience with nested-based CNC routers and experience with CNC programming or cabinet manufacturing software would be strong assets
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
