Our TMT client is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer (5+ years) to develop semantic layer solutions and analytics-ready datasets using GCP BigQuery and Strategy.

Join a high-visibility Consolidated Advertising Revenue Reporting initiative supporting enterprise reporting and self-service analytics. This role bridges Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Business Analysis to transform complex advertising revenue data into governed datasets and semantic models. The position works closely with Data Engineering teams, Finance stakeholders, and BI developers to support trusted analytics and AI-ready reporting solutions. The engagement supports ongoing enterprise data initiatives with robust potential for continued project work.

Contract, Queen Street West, Toronto, Hybrid(3x/week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), Working Hours: EST

Must Haves

- 5+ years in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics Engineering roles
- Advanced SQL development using BigQuery with complex joins and aggregations
- Hybrid BI Developer and Data Engineer experience within large enterprise data environments
- Design of dimensional data models, semantic layers, and enterprise reporting structures
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics,



Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) or similar enterprise BI platforms
- Experience working with cloud-based analytical platforms preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Nice to Have

- Experience with dbt, Dataflow, Airflow, or similar cloud data technologies
- Background in advertising, media, broadcast, or digital revenue reporting
- Experience supporting Finance reporting and reconciliation processes
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and master data management concepts

Responsibilities

- Support the design and maintenance of the enterprise semantic layer within GCP BigQuery
- Extract business rules from legacy reports and centralize KPI definitions into the database layer
- Document business metrics, hierarchies, metadata definitions, and calculation logic
- Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on data quality, lineage, and performance initiatives
- Develop and maintain SQL transformations, data models, and business logic for reporting datasets
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Develop semantic models supporting Strategy and enterprise reporting solutions
