We are a small company supporting some big clients. We are looking for a contract Printer Technician.
Service calls are island wide, but are mostly focused on Charlottetown and Summerside.
This is a as needed position, sometime we get a few calls per week, sometimes none. IT depends on what breaks.
We have just got a current contract with one of the major banks. It hasn't started yet so I am unsure of the volume.
This position requires a clean criminal record check.
Duties
Diagnose and repair a wide range of printer issues, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
Perform routine maintenance on printers to prevent future malfunctions and extend equipment lifespan.
Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex hardware and wiring issues effectively.
Install, configure, and upgrade printer hardware and related computer networking components to ensure optimal connectivity.
Use hand tools and low voltage electrical skills to perform repairs, replacements, and adjustments safely and accurately.
Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules for accountability.
Collaborate with IT teams to resolve network connectivity issues related to printers and ensure seamless integration with computer hardware systems.
Experience
Proven experience in printer maintenance, repair, or technical support within a fast-paced workplace.
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
Familiarity with computer networking principles, including network setup, IP configurations, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose hardware problems accurately.
Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems relevant to printer hardware components.
Basic understanding of computer hardware components related to printing systems and peripheral devices.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward maintenance and repairs.
