· Skill Requirements: fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing), understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills (communicating with patients and their families), patient, attention to details, positive caring attitude, flexibility in work schedule, physical strength (to help turn and position patients), be compassionate, etc.

· Qualification:
Minimum high school diploma
Minimum 1 year of experience as a nurse aide or equivalent
Completion of specialized courses such as CPR, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, Intravenous (IV) therapy Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate. Food handling/sterile processing will be an asset.

· Job duties:
Personal hygiene including bathing, dressing, toileting and shaving; changing bed sheets and restocking rooms with necessary supplies
Serving meals, and assisting in feeding
Assessing patients’ condition, taking patient vital signs and collecting patient histories
Taking patients’ temperature, blood pressure and pulse,



and maintain records
Regularly lifting and turning patients to prevent bed sores, helping patients get out of bed
Lifting and transporting patients manually and using machines.
Supervising patients' exercise routines, and performing other duties related to patient care
Assisting in oral medication taking, cleaning up after medical procedures.
Cleaning and sterilizing patients’ areas.
Relaying and reporting messages between departments

· Conditions and Location of work: Lunenburg County – Home care and visiting care agency, public or community health center, rehabilitation center and special health institution, hospital or home for the aged, nursing home for the aged, hospital/medical facility or clinic, etc.
