Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Traffic Controller to ensure the secure and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians at construction sites and paving projects. This role is vital for maintaining safety standards and facilitating smooth operations in busy construction environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, and excellent communication skills. Prior experience in construction or paving is a plus, but we are willing to provide training for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
Direct traffic flow around construction zones, paving sites, and other work areas to prevent accidents and ensure safety.
Use hand signals, signs, and flagging devices to communicate with drivers and pedestrians effectively.
Coordinate with construction teams to manage site access and ensure work zones are clear of unauthorized personnel.
Monitor work areas for safety hazards and report any concerns to site supervisors immediately.
Assist with setting up traffic control devices, barriers, and signage before work begins.
Maintain clear communication with team members using radios or other communication tools during shifts.

Skills




Robust understanding of traffic control procedures and safety protocols.
Ability to operate heavy equipment related to traffic management, such as flagging devices or signaling tools.
Experience in paving or construction environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills for clear instructions and coordination with team members and the public.
Attention to detail and vigilance in monitoring surroundings for safety hazards.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety standards.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks as needed.
