COMPENSATION: $29.85/hour
Strathcona Regional District has a part-time opening for a Program Bus Driver. The Program Bus Driver is responsible for operating a 24-passenger school bus and/or other Strathcona Regional District vehicles to transport patrons to and from recreation program sites and related activities in a safe, timely manner. Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector search and become a member of the United Steelworkers, Local 1-1937.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Completion of grade 12
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Related driving experience
Experience driving a bus or similar vehicle
REQUIRED LICENCES, CERTIFICATES AND REGISTRATIONS
Valid Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s Licence
Standard First Aid
CPR Level C with AED (current within the year)
Clean “No Contraventions” 5-year drivers abstract
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid unrestricted Class 1 Driver’s License
Qualified industry driver training certification
Previous experience driving and operating a 24-passenger school bus or similar vehicle
Familiarity with local streets, neighbourhoods, schools and routes
Post-secondary courses in skilled industry driver training
Required training, licenses, and related costs are not eligible for reimbursement.
