We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cleaner for our Farmers Market to ensure a clean, secure, and welcoming setting for vendors, customers, and staff. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall hygiene of the market area, including stalls, walkways, restrooms, and common spaces. Your proactive approach will help create an inviting atmosphere that encourages community engagement and supports the success of our vendors. Responsibilities
Perform thorough cleaning of market, walkways, and public areas to ensure a spotless environment.
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, trash disposal areas, and shared facilities in accordance with health standards.
Conduct routine inspections of the market space to identify and address cleanliness or maintenance issues promptly.
Use commercial cleaning equipment and supplies safely and effectively to uphold high hygiene standards.
Assist with setting up and breaking down market spaces as needed, ensuring all areas are tidy before opening and after closing.
Report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately to ensure swift resolution and continuous safety compliance.
Support overall facilities maintenance by performing minor repairs or notifying appropriate personnel for complex issues.
Skills
Proven experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance within commercial or public settings.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques using commercial cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ability to perform routine inspections and identify cleanliness or maintenance issues proactively.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on hygiene standards and safety protocols.
Good physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during shifts.
Excellent communication skills for reporting issues clearly and working collaboratively with team members.
Basic understanding of facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or troubleshooting equipment.

Must be legally able to work in Canada. No criminal record. Must be fluent in English and able to lift 50 pounds
Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour
