Responsibilities
Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure their comfort and dignity
Support medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive atmosphere
Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living environment
Monitor health status by observing changes in condition and reporting concerns promptly to nursing staff or supervisors
Support clients with mobility aids and transfer techniques to promote safety during movement
Qualifications
Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly desirable
Demonstrated experience caring for seniors or individuals with disabilities, including dementia care experience
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
Robust caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
Ability to perform light cleaning tasks and meal preparation efficiently
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed in a casual employment setting
Certification or training in caregiving or health care aide programs is an asset
