Be part of the cleaning team at Dartmouth General Hospital as a Utility Worker. Maintain cleanliness by engaging in dusting, mopping, and waste removal duties across the facility.
You will report to the Assistant Manager while focusing on sanitation and safety. This casual relief position has no guaranteed hours, and shifts may vary between days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Ideal applicants will possess Grade 12/GED or equivalent experience and have previous cleaning or floor care skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and sanitize all areas within the hospital
• Perform floor scrubbing, waxing, and carpet shampooing
• Handle hazardous waste and regular waste disposal
• Execute laundry tasks and room set-ups as needed
• Maintain cleanliness during chemical spill and blood cleanup
Requirements:
• Grade 12/GED or similar work experience
• Experience in cleaning and floor care preferred
• Competencies in French considered an asset
• Availability for wide-ranging shifts including weekends
• Must meet health and safety standards
