Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for highly motivated, safety-consciousWelders (Site Based) , whose primary responsibilities are completing welds on recent and existing structural steel according to engineered prints and quality standards. Quality work and timely completion of all aspects of work performed is required. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test will be required as a condition of employment.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Project assignment many include underground and/or surface work
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Participation in the preparation and following of safety procedures & permits throughout the course of their work
- Install various types of rigging and other hoisting equipment
- Disassembly and/or removal of existing structural steel components
- Assemble and/or installation of new or modified structural steel components
- Operator hoisting and lifting devices

What You Bring to the Table

- CWB certification SMAW All Position
- Valid fall protection certification
- Experience working in a safety-sensitive environment
- Experience in a construction environment is considered an asset
- Comfortable working at heights
- Valid 5A Driver’s License is required
- Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required
- Must be physically fit and able safely lift heavy loads up to 50 pounds
