We are working with a growing construction company that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to its finance team.

This is a hands on accounting role with responsibility for general ledger, reconciliations, month end close, financial reporting and supporting the day to day financial operations of the business.

What you’ll do

- Prepare journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
- Support month end and year end close
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Complete bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed
- Assist with cash flow, budgeting and forecasting
- Prepare GST and other required filings
- Support external audits and provide schedules and documentation
- Maintain fixed asset and capital expenditure records
- Help improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Work with operations and management on accounting and financial matters




- Support other accounting projects as needed

What you bring

- 4+ years of accounting experience
- Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA designation or working toward a CPA is an asset
- Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience
- Good understanding of Canadian accounting principles
- Strong Excel and accounting system skills
- Construction or contracting experience is an asset
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
