Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As a Senior Patternmaker Grader, you will support with the transition of patterns from development to production and contribute to the output of accurately graded production patterns. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple product calendars and categories in a fast-paced environment, and your cross-functional partnership with our Product Creation Development teams and factory partners will ensure our sized products maintain design integrity. As senior member of the Pattern Grading team, you lead by example and provide overall support and mentoring to the rest of the Patternmaker Graders.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Meet Your Future Team:
The Pattern Grading Team transitions patterns from development to production and produces accurate graded production patterns. Through collaboration and partnership with our internal product development teams and our external factory partners, the team is responsible for ensuring our final sized products maintain integrity of design, function and production accuracy developed on the base size.
Maintaining patterns during factory sampling and production stages, ensuring that methods and documentation are consistent with known factory methods and processes
Ensuring accurate finished garment measurement specifications are developed and maintained each season
Ensuring grading formulas on all finished garment measurement specifications and templates are accurate and reproducible in garment form
Assisting with grade production patterns, ensuring that all grading of like products and documentation are consistent and completed following development and production schedules
Supporting graded die sizes are minimized whilst maintaining design integrity and production practicality
Preparing offshore grading packages and communicate with factories to ensure grading aligns with requirements
Establishing and maintain computer pattern libraries, ensuring factory graded patterns are current in our system
Participating in graded size run checks to ensure grading maintains integrity of design, function and production accuracy developed on the base size
Building business relationships with Designers, Product Developers, Patternmakers, Sample Sewers, Technical Specialist and Factory partners
Maintaining regular communication with development teams to ensure consistent methods for patterning, measuring and new technical construction are observed
Working with design and patternmakers to establish standard fit/grade by product category/end use and ensure product size/fit consistency
Contributing to grading library, grading guides and use of standard grades
Troubleshooting problems and ensure regular maintenance of computer software and equipment
Setting up and maintaining computer grade table libraries for all product
Supporting with the training and development of all Patternmakers and Patternmaker Graders
Assisting and coaching Patternmaker Graders daily, encouraging effective problem solving
Upholding Fair Labour Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.
Assisting Clo 3d Size Set stitching and reviewing
Providing on site grading training to factory partners
Supporting TCC and ALO office on pattern grading and pre-production approval
You have 7+ years’ production grading and patternmaking experience, preferably within the outdoor industry
You have a strong knowledge of garment construction, with a grading specialty
You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
You have strong written and spoken communications skills
You have an excellent attention to detail, including accurate data entry
You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

The salary range for this role is: CAD$94,000 - CAD$124,000
