Big Country Equipment is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics to join their team in British Columbia. This rotational field-service role involves diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy mining and construction equipment. The company offers paid flights from anywhere in Canada, company-provided housing, and a generous meal allowance. Ideal candidates are licensed technicians with strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to safety.

What You'll Need

Three or more years of recent experience diagnosing and repairing heavy or off-road equipment

Valid provincial trade certification as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician (preferred)





Licensed Truck and Transport Mechanics or Agricultural Equipment Technicians with relevant experience may be considered

Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, transmission, drivetrain)

Experience using computerized diagnostic software and testing equipment

Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Proficient in English (verbal and written)

Ability to lift 50 lbs. comfortably

Pass a Criminal Record check

Clean 5-year driver's abstract

Pass an 8-panel drug test (including marijuana) and alcohol breath test

Provide at least 2 direct supervisor references

What Will Make You Stand Out

Recent field-service experience, ideally working independently from a service truck

Red Seal certification

Experience repairing mining equipment

Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, or John Deere equipment

Experience repairing surface drills, electric shovels, or hydraulic shovels
