This part time position involves providing vital interpreting services under the supervision of the Principal. You will engage with students, staff, and parents to facilitate communication and enhance educational experiences, ensuring students receive the support needed for their Individual Education Plans. Your role is essential in interpreting diverse educational situations while collaborating with school and district professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately interpret spoken English to American Sign Language
• Facilitate communication between hearing and deaf students




• Provide interpreting in classrooms and during meetings
• Support vocabulary reinforcement and academic concepts
• Prepare for diverse educational interpreting tasks
Requirements:
• Completion of a 2-year Interpreter Training Program
• Fluency in American Sign Language and Signed English
• Over 6 months of interpreting experience
• Membership with CASLI and WAVLI
• Understanding of Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners
