Description about project/department
Our client is seeking an experienced Fabrication Site Lead to act as the company's on-site representative during fabrication, assembly, testing, and load-out of subsea production structures, including templates, manifolds, and associated subsea equipment. The successful candidate will provide oversight and assurance of fabrication activities performed by the Subsea Integration Alliance (SIA) and its subcontractors, ensuring safe and efficient execution in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, and regulatory obligations. The role will be based between St. John's Office and the fabrication yard in Newfoundland. Selected Candidate will serve as the primary interface between client, SIA, the fabrication contractor, and key project stakeholders.
Description about task and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Represent client on-site throughout fabrication and testing activities. Monitor HSE, quality, progress, and execution performance. Follow up fabrication, assembly, testing (FAT, SIT/EFAT), preservation, and load-out activities. Provide independent assurance that project requirements, including Equinor technical requirements, are being implemented. Maintain close coordination with SIA, fabrication contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. Identify, communicate,
and support resolution of technical, quality, schedule, and execution risks. Deliver regular reporting to the Bay du Nord project team on progress, key issues, and opportunities. Support audits, management visits, readiness reviews, and key project milestones.
Competence Requirements
Qualifications Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification. Minimum 10 years' experience within offshore fabrication, construction, subsea projects, or major capital projects. Experience with fabrication of subsea structures, manifolds, templates, skids, or similar offshore equipment. Strong understanding of fabrication processes, quality management, testing, and commissioning activities. Experience working with EPC/EPCI contractors and fabrication yards. Knowledge of NORSOK, DNV, and offshore industry standards is desirable. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Structured, independent, and delivery-oriented. Comfortable working in a contractor-led execution workplace.
