Lead Esthetician – New Whitby Location

About Lumina Aesthetics Spa
Lumina Aesthetics Spa is expanding and opening a new aesthetics and skincare location in Whitby.
We are looking for an experienced, professional, and highly motivated Lead Esthetician with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience who wants to take on a leadership role and help us build the esthetics department from the ground up.
This is not simply a treatment position. You will be joining us from the beginning and working directly with management to help establish the esthetics operation, train and develop new estheticians, implement treatment standards and protocols, and build a strong, high-performing team.
We are looking for someone who combines excellent technical skills with leadership, strong client communication, sales awareness, organization, accountability, and the ability to adapt quickly.
Key Responsibilities
As Lead Esthetician, you will work directly under the Spa Manager and will be responsible for both providing exceptional treatments and helping lead the esthetics team.
- Performing high-quality facial and advanced aesthetic treatments according to Lumina protocols
- Helping build and establish the esthetics department at our new Whitby location
- Training, coaching, and developing new estheticians
- Directly supervising and supporting the esthetics team
- Maintaining consistent treatment standards and quality
- Managing and coordinating esthetician schedules
- Supporting smooth day-to-day treatment-room operations
- Monitoring treatment supplies, equipment, and inventory needs
- Ensuring treatment rooms, sanitation, equipment, and client records meet professional standards
- Supporting client retention and treatment-plan/package performance
- Communicating confidently with clients and reinforcing professional treatment recommendations
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional esthetics experience
- Professional esthetics diploma/certification
- Microneedling training/certification
- Previous experience supervising, leading, training, or managing estheticians
- Previous experience with treatment plans, packages, client retention, and sales
- Strong understanding of professional skincare and treatment protocols
- Excellent client communication skills
- Fluent professional English
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead by example and maintain professional standards
- Ability to work effectively within established company systems, procedures, standards, and management structure
Treatment Experience
Strong hands-on experience is expected across advanced facial and skincare services, including:
Customized facials, Hydrofacial/Hydrodermabrasion, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning, Microneedling, Scalp/Hair Microneedling, Chemical Peels, Radiofrequency (RF), LED Therapy, High-Frequency Treatments, Oxygen Therapy, Extractions, Hydration and Collagen Treatments, and professional skincare protocols and aftercare.
Highly Preferred
Body treatments and body contouring experience using technologies such as RF body contouring, cavitation, lipo laser, body sculpting, or other non-invasive body treatments is a major advantage.
Professional teeth whitening experience is also considered a significant advantage.

Schedule
Full-Time Position
Spa operating hours: Sunday–Friday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PMSaturday: Closed
Sunday availability is required. Candidates must have flexibility within the spa’s operating schedule based on staffing and business needs.
Immediate availability/start preferred.
Compensation & Earning Potential
$25.00–$30.00 per hour+ High Commissions+ Performance-Based Bonuses
For the right candidate, we are open to creating a customized compensation and incentive structure designed to provide exceptionally high earning potential based on performance, client retention, treatment-plan/package results, leadership, and contribution to the growth of the business.
There is significant opportunity for someone who performs at a high level to increase their overall income well beyond the base hourly compensation.
Additional hours and opportunities for advancement may also become available based on performance and business growth.
