Custodian Needed at Duncan United Church

Position: Church Custodian (Regular Part-Time)Pay: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience and availability)
Schedule: Regular Part-Time | 20–25 hours per week (7:00 AM – 12:00 Noon)

Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable Custodian to oversee the general maintenance, cleanliness, and functional upkeep of our facility for our congregation and community groups.

Key Responsibilities

- Facility Maintenance & Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning of interior spaces, grounds, and walkways (note: outdoor cleanup may occasionally involve safely clearing hazards/drug paraphernalia). Apply ice melt during winter.
- Basic Repairs & Upkeep: Maintain heating, and plumbing in good working order; perform minor non-journeyman repairs and painting projects.
- Event Preparation: Set up, maintain, and clean facilities before and after scheduled services and special events.





Working Relationships & Reporting

- Work collaboratively with ministry staff, church committees, and user groups to support smooth facility operations.
- Reports to the Unified Board through the Ministry and Personnel Committee.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

- Hands-on experience in general building maintenance, minor repairs, and custodial work.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and navigate stairs regularly.
- Robust organizational skills and a proactive approach to facility upkeep.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive relationships with staff and facility users.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
