Cutter – Exterior Siding

C.A.F. Contracting is looking for a Cutter to join our exterior siding crew in Greater Victoria.

The primary role is measuring, cutting, organizing, and supplying siding and trim materials to our installers. You’ll work primarily with James Hardie fibre cement siding and EasyTrim panel systems, using saws and other power tools throughout the day.

We are looking for someone who already has construction or similar hands-on experience and is confident using power tools, particularly saws. Previous siding experience is an asset, but not required. We will teach you the trade.

You’ll begin as a Cutter, but as you develop your skills, we will train you in all aspects of exterior finishing and building-envelope construction, including siding installation, rainscreen systems, window installation and flashing, waterproofing, air barriers and airtightness, and proper exterior building details.

Our goal is to develop good people from within the company. Someone who works hard, learns our systems, and takes pride in their work can progress from Cutter → Siding Installer → Lead Installer → Crew Leader.





There is a lot to learn in this trade, and we are willing to teach it. What we need from you is reliability, a good attitude, a willingness to learn, and a solid foundation using tools.

Requirements: Construction or similar hands-on experience; confident using power tools and saws; able to accurately use a tape measure; physically capable of handling siding materials and working outdoors; reliable transportation to job sites throughout Greater Victoria.

Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
