Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, caring and responsible Nanny to provide attentive and nurturing care for children in a private household in Bolton, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and caring for children, supporting their daily routines, preparing nutritious meals, assisting with homework and activities, and maintaining a safe and healthy home environment.

The position is full-time, permanent, offering $22.00 per hour for 30 hours per week with flexible hours. The successful candidate will work closely with the parents to support the children's daily needs, development, safety and emotional well-being.

Duties

- Supervise and care for children in the employer's home
- Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
- Cook meals for the children and family as required
- Change diapers and assist with toilet training following the parents' direction
- Sterilize bottles and prepare formula
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
- Organize and participate in games, activities and outings for children
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Keep records of children's daily activities and health information
- Take children to and from school and appointments
- Help children with homework
- Support the emotional well-being of children
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties related to the household and children's needs
- Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens




- Assume responsibility for the household in the absence of the parents
- Travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties

Experience and Qualifications

- 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience in childcare or nanny work
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient, reliable, organized and responsible
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions provided by the parents
- Ability to maintain a protected and healthy environment for children
- Good time-management and organizational skills
- Client-focused and attentive to children's needs

Work Environment

- Work is performed on site in the employer's home
- Non-smoking and scent-free environment
- The position involves repetitive tasks, attention to detail and working with children
- The position may involve handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
