Mowing Technician (Full-Time)

Role Overview

Operate riding and push mowers, perform edging and trimming, maintain equipment, and deliver clean, professional lawn cuts. This role is ideal for techs who enjoy a relaxing, satisfying workflow — driving stop to stop, listening to music or podcasts, and making lawns look amazing.

A Day in the Life

6:45 AM: Arrive at the warehouse, grab snacks/drinks, check your vehicle, sign into the NH app, and enter your first stop into the Service Assistant (SA) App.

On the road: Drive safely (Tesla autopilot allowed on freeways but must be used responsibly).

Park on the right side of the road; avoid driveways and steep curbs to prevent damage.

At the property:

- Unload the mower safely
- Set mowing height (usually 3' or #6)
- Mow perimeter then straight lines
- Trim edges cleanly
- Blow clippings onto the lawn, not onto vehicles or landscaping
- Take a final look for missed spots
- Take a photo and leave a service summary
- Place signs if you completed power‑edging or add‑on services

Continue stop‑to‑stop until your route is complete. Return to the bay, put equipment away, and clock out on QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities

- Mow properties efficiently to NH quality standards
- Perform light maintenance on mowing equipment
- Complete edging, trimming, and clean‑up
- Maintain safe driving habits and equipment handling
- Provide positive customer service and generate Google reviews

Requirements

- Valid Alberta Class 5 licence
- 3‑year driving abstract + 3‑year insurance history
- Physically capable of outdoor work
- Experience with lawn equipment is an asset (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and safety

Role Overview

Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers using backpack or truck‑mounted sprayers while following Alberta’s pesticide regulations. You’ll also assist with aeration, overseeding, and vegetation control.

A Day in the Life

6:45 AM: Arrive, gear up, clock in, check your vehicle,

sign into the NH app, and load your first stop in the Service Assistant (SA) App.

At each property:

- Park safely with reel aligned to the backyard gate
- Pull hose to the farthest point without damaging property
- Check behind back fences for additional turf
- Spray perimeter first, then divide lawn into strips
- Overlap lines by ~6 inches for full coverage
- If doing vegetation control: use the shielded backpack sprayer, avoiding drift onto plants and animals
- Leave a sign, complete service summary, and verify the yard is fully covered

Finish the route, report issues/reschedule needs, return PPE, and clock out.

Key Responsibilities

- Apply pesticides and fertilizers safely and accurately
- Use backpack sprayers for vegetation control
- Perform aeration and overseeding when required
- Protect landscaping from overspray and drift
- Maintain safe driving and equipment handling
- Generate Google reviews from satisfied customers

Requirements

- Alberta Pesticide Applicator Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s licence; sprayer experience preferred
- 3‑year driving abstract + insurance history
- Physical stamina for lifting, spraying, and moving equipment
- Solid communication and customer service skills

Pay Structure

Full‑time (40 hrs/week)
Overtime: 1.5x after 8 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week
