QUALIFICATIONS: Ontario College of Teachers’ Certificate of Qualification and qualified to teach in the Intermediate/Senior Divisions in accordance with Ministry of Education regulations.

Preference will be given to applicants who are currently members in valuable standing with the Ontario College of teachers and possess a current Certificate of Qualification (Intermediate/Senior divisions). Candidates must have proficiency, both written and verbal, in Mohawk language. In addition, preference will be given to candidates who have attained intermediate level, both written and verbal, in Mohawk language according to the American Council on the teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) proficiency guidelines. It is also necessary to have working knowledge of the Haudenosaunee history and culture.

Grand Erie may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance efficiency during the recruitment process by screening applicants and creating interview questions. AI does not make the hiring decisions.

All employees are required to provide an original Police Record Check (which includes a “vulnerable sector search”) acceptable to the Board prior to the commencement of employment. In accordance with regulations, this will be an ongoing expectation of employment for Grand Erie employees every five years of employment.
