About the Role

Lead an engineering squad at a conversational AI and voice technology company. You will help shape engineering team decisions and enable experienced engineers to deliver valuable work quickly and reliably in a fully remote setting.

What You'll Do

- Lead and grow a team of 8 to 15 engineers, including hiring, career development, performance management, and headcount planning.
- Work with engineering leaders to make department-wide decisions and set a high bar for team execution.
- Build a culture that supports fast delivery, thoughtful experimentation, and learning from setbacks.
- Set clear delivery expectations and take responsibility for the quality and outcomes of your team's work.
- Help turn individual AI experimentation into improved team productivity, quality, and delivery.
- Partner with Product, Delivery, and other teams to focus work on customer value and follow up after launch.

What We're Looking For





- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading teams of 8 or more.
- Experience in an early-stage or high-growth startup and a servant-leadership approach to people management.
- Strength in hiring, developing engineers, and making challenging performance decisions.
- Comfort leading senior engineers without needing to be a hands-on individual contributor.
- Experience or familiarity with AI, conversational AI, voice, or telephony systems is a plus.
- Relevant technologies include machine learning, large language models, NLP, voice AI, telephony, Haskell, JavaScript, and Python.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: USD $220,000 to $280,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Fully remote role based in Canada.
