Under minimum supervision, performs the duties listed below with complete competence.

TYPICAL DUTIES

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blue prints, charts, and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and layout work pieces
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled CNC tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations
- Fit and assemble machined metal/composite parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Set up and program CNC machine with MasterCam
- Handling of large components according to protected practices, overhead crane and/or forklift
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production

- Operating of Lathe, Vertical and Horizontal Boring Mills, CNC Equipment
- Using Precision Measuring equipment
- Microsoft Office / MasterCam / Solidworks PDM
- ISO Standards as they apply to Design and Manufacturing
- Hoisting & Rigging, WHMIS and other shop safety programs
- First Aid

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- 5 years relevant experience in the field or in a related area

EDUCATION REQUIRED

- College Machining course and 4-year apprenticeship program
- Red Seal

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ASSOCIATED HAZARDS

- Working in a shop, PPE required
- Lifting and transporting heavy equipment
