About the Role

Our client is seeking a reliable and versatile General Maintenance Worker to join their facilities management team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role involves a wide range of tasks to ensure the upkeep and operational efficiency of their premises. You will be responsible for performing various repairs and maintenance duties, contributing to a protected, clean, and functional environment. The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver with a broad skillset, able to handle diverse maintenance needs efficiently and effectively, working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
Perform general repairs including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs.
Maintain building systems such as HVAC filters, lighting, and basic fixtures.
Respond to and resolve maintenance requests from staff and management.




Ensure grounds and common areas are kept tidy and well-maintained.
Assist with equipment setup, moving, and general facility upkeep.

Requirements
Proven experience in a general maintenance or handyman role.
Broad knowledge of building systems and common repair techniques.
Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and working in various conditions.
Positive communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
