What You’ll Do
Prepare US individual income tax returns (Form 1040), including supporting schedules such as Schedule A, B, C, D, and E
Assist with preparation of corporate tax returns (Form 1120) as experience allows
Perform bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and month-end close for client files
Gather and review client documentation, identifying missing information and following up as needed
Prepare work papers and financial statements to support tax filings
Stay current on US tax law changes and filing requirements
Communicate professionally with clients and collaborate with senior staff on reviews
What You Bring
2+ years of US accounting or tax experience
Demonstrated experience preparing Form 1040 returns ( required )
Experience with Form 1120 corporate returns ( strong asset )
Familiarity with tax software (such as CCH Axcess, Drake, UltraTax, or Lacerte)
Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during busy season
Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Nice to Have
Experience with Forms 1120-S, 1065, or state returns
Experience with Canadian T1 and T2 returns
Progress toward a CPA, EA, or CPA (Canada) designation
Experience working with cross-border or remote clients
