As the Fish and Wildlife Manager, you will report to the Director of Lands, Resources, and Heritage, working closely with the Selkirk Renewable Resources Council. Your role will encompass managing fish and wildlife on SFN Settlement Lands, requiring a familiarity with relevant policies and agreements. Your expertise in hunting and trapping practices, along with experience in report writing, will be crucial for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement management programs for fish and wildlife
• Collaborate with First Nations and government agencies
• Provide expert advice to the Selkirk Renewable Resources Council
• Conduct wildlife tagging and tranquilizing techniques
• Write reports and funding proposals for wildlife management
Requirements:
• Diploma in Renewable Resources Management or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of the SFN Final Agreement and related policies
• Familiarity with fish and wildlife management in Yukon
• First Aid/CPR or Wilderness First Aid certification
• Ability to work independently and in teams
