Join Coquitlam School District as an Indigenous Cultural Facilitator in a full-time role. Engage students in Indigenous culture and history while promoting community involvement and awareness.
In this temporary full time position, you will develop and implement Indigenous Cultural programs for students and staff. Reporting to the District Principal of Indigenous Education, your work will enhance understanding of the Kwikwetlem First Nation, Metis, Inuit, and other Indigenous cultures within the school curriculum. Collaboration with teachers and community members is key to support Indigenous students and foster cultural appreciation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Indigenous Cultural programs for students
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate Indigenous history
• Facilitate cultural awareness within the school community
• Engage Indigenous parents in cultural education
• Maintain records of services provided and student progress
Requirements:
• Grade 12 and post-secondary in Indigenous Education
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and traditions
• BC Driver's License required
• Indigenous ancestry for eligibility
• Police background check necessary
