As a mechanic within Pomerleau's Civil & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of drilling machines on construction sites. Working on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you will have the opportunity to ensure the safety, productivity, and sustainability of drilling operations.
What you will do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on drilling machines;
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures;
- Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and technical manuals;
- Ensure the replacement of defective parts and carry out necessary adjustments;
- Collaborate with operators and the operations manager to optimize equipment performance;
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning while complying with manufacturer requirements and standards;
- Maintain an inventory of drill spare parts and consumables;
- Produce an inspection certificate after repair and inspection;
- Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance tasks;
- Carry out periodic maintenance operations such as oil changes, lubrication, and tuning;
- Attend training related to new technologies.
This role could be for you if you have
- A valid CCQ competency certificate for heavy machinery mechanics;
- Hold a DEP in construction equipment mechanics;
- Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience;
- Possess a valid driver's license;
- Familiarity with Epiroc (Atlas Copco) drills - an asset
