Lead wildfire crews at the Northwest Fire Centre and ensure community safety in Burns Lake, BC. Your leadership will drive effective fire suppression and hazard management.
This full time, on-site position is pivotal for candidates with at least two seasons of forest fire experience. You will manage daily fieldwork and collaborate with professionals on wildfire prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. As a Fire Crew Leader, you will mobilize crews efficiently in incident response while maintaining high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead daily field operations and fireline teams
• Execute fire suppression and hazard plans
• Collaborate with other wildfire management professionals
• Ensure crew safety and compliance with standards
• Participate in community awareness and preparedness initiatives
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education
• 2 seasons of forest fire experience required
• Intermediate First Aid certification
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Completion of fitness standard testing is mandatory
