The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is looking for an experienced instructor for community-based hiking programs. In this role, you will plan and lead hikes, assess trail safety, and manage participant experience. Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety are essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and lead diverse hiking programs
• Assess trail and site safety consistently
• Manage participant experiences during hikes
• Complete attendance and incident reports accurately
• Prepare necessary program materials in advance
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education and experience in outdoor recreation
• Minimum one year of relevant instructional experience preferred
• Valid Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C Certification
• Class 5 Driver’s License preferred; Class 4 highly preferred
• Strong skills in communication and customer service
