Sylvan Learning of Erin Mills is looking for a motivated Teacher Candidate with solid knowledge of Chemistry and Physics to join our instructional team on a part time basis.
The ideal candidate is currently completing a Bachelor of Education or teacher-training program, enjoys working with high school students, and is confident supporting Ontario secondary school Chemistry and Physics.
Responsibilities
Teach and support students in Grade 9–12 Chemistry and Physics.
Provide instruction in small-group and individual tutoring settings.
Help students understand concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for tests and exams.
Explain scientific and mathematical concepts clearly and in a student-friendly manner.
Identify learning gaps and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.
Support students in developing stronger study habits, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
Provide feedback on student progress to the Centre Director and Director of Education.
Maintain a positive, professional,
and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Education, teacher-training, or teacher certification program.
Strong academic background in Chemistry, Physics, Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Comfortable teaching Ontario high school Chemistry and Physics, including senior-level courses.
Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or classroom experience is an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patient, dependable, organized, and enthusiastic about working with students.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 10.0 per week
