Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrates knowledge and support of the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the Deer Lodge Centre.
Demonstrates knowledge and support of the Deer Lodge Centre's Mission Statement, Residents Bill of Rights and Code of Conduct.
Demonstrates knowledge and support of Personal Health Information Act, Protection of Persons in Care Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
Ability to work within a computerized system.
Ability to communicate effectively without direct supervision.
Ability to learn and follow routines by on-the-job training method to learn procedures of duties.
Ability to carry out all duties of the position.
Effective interpersonal relationships, courteous.
Reliability, alertness, cooperativeness, tactful and adaptability.
Physical Requirements
May be required to work extended hours.
May involve exposure to disease, heat, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, blood and body fluids, etc.
May encounter aggressive and/or agitated patients/residents/staff/visitors.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
