Our client is an established manufacturing organization in the Concord, ON area seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys a hands‑on role and wants to take ownership of safety programs, projects, compliance, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing Coordinate and support the organization's Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and follow up on corrective actions.
Coordinate accident and incident investigations and ensure appropriate follow-up and documentation.
Support the Joint Health & Safety Committee and coordinate follow-up on committee recommendations.
Deliver Health & Safety training and participate in new employee orientations and employee meetings.
Coordinate required employee training and certifications, including WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, TDG, and other applicable programs.
Maintain and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, forms, records, and communication materials.
Support ergonomic, environmental, workplace wellness, and heat stress programs.
Conduct and support risk assessments for machinery, equipment, and workplace tasks.
Assist with WSIB claims management and return-to-work programs.
Coordinate contractor and visitor safety requirements.
Maintain First Aid and PPE supplies and coordinate workplace health initiatives such as hearing testing.
Work closely with HR, Maintenance, and other departments to identify hazards and improve workplace safety.
Liaise with corporate Health & Safety resources and external agencies as required.
Lead and support Health & Safety projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For Must Have:
2+ years of Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in a Coordinator-level role.
Strong knowledge of Ontario's Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable regulations.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with employees and management at all levels.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Robust Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Education & Certifications Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Public Health & Safety, or a related field.
Joint Health & Safety Committee Certified Member certification.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Internal auditing experience is an asset.
Experience with H&S; management systems such as HSELinx, Sphera, or SharePoint is an asset.
