We are seeking a dedicated Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) with specialized training in orthodontics to join our dynamic dental team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will support our orthodontic procedures, assist with patient care, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in dental assisting combined with orthodontic module experience will contribute to delivering exceptional patient experiences and advancing our practice’s standards of care. Duties
Assist the orthodontist during various procedures, including bracket placement, adjustments, and appliance fittings
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe and efficient clinical environment
Manage patient records using our orthodontic software, Ortho 2, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
Educate patients on orthodontic care, post-treatment instructions, and proper appliance maintenance
Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and updating patient data
Support the dental receptionist by managing patient flow and answering basic inquiries
Maintain detailed documentation of treatments using medical/ dental terminology and dental assisting best practices
Skills
Proven experience as an RDA with orthodontic module certification or training
Proficiency in dental software platforms for charting and record management
Strong knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and related dental terminology
Experience working with pediatric patients and understanding pediatric dental needs
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members
Familiarity with intra-oral 3D scanning and photo taking is a plus
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
