The Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill 3 part time Personal Support Worker (PSW) positions, internally known as Support Services Attendant (SSA), in our Outreach Program in Toronto.

Wage: $19.42 per hour

This position is eligible for the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.

Hours: up to 30 hours per week

Schedule: Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with various hours per week.

Responsibilities:

- Assist clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures.
- Provide personal care and attendant services.
- Assist with lifts and transfers.
- Assist with rising and retiring.
- Assist with bowel and bladder procedures.
- Prepare and assist with meals and feeding.
- Assist with range of motion exercises.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Travel between client locations as required.




- Perform all duties in a professional manner that respects the dignity and privacy of clients and maintains the health and safety of clients and staff.
- Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, which may vary between locations.

Qualifications:

- PSW Certificate would be an asset.
- Experience working with older adults is an asset.
- Experience, knowledge, or understanding of Independent Living or client-directed care is an asset.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working with people with physical disabilities.
- Knowledge and ability to perform transfers, lifting, bowel and bladder routines, and other attendant care duties.
- Physical Demands Self Analysis required upon hire.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- French-English bilingualism is an asset.
- Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Paid mileage and paid travel time.
