About the Role Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Data Scientist with a specialization in Bioinformatics to spearhead their data-driven research initiatives. This role will be fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms to extract actionable insights from large biological datasets, including genomic, proteomic, and clinical data. This is a unique opportunity to lead a talented team, shape the strategic direction of bioinformatics analysis, and make a significant impact on scientific discovery in a leading research organization.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development and deployment of sophisticated machine learning models and statistical analyses for complex biological data.
Design and implement scalable data pipelines for processing, integrating, and analyzing large-scale genomic and multi-omics datasets.
Collaborate with domain experts (biologists, clinicians) to define research questions and translate them into data science problems.
Mentor and guide a team of data scientists and bioinformaticians, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific rigor.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance data analysis capabilities.Communicate complex findings and strategic recommendations effectively to both technical and executive audiences.
Requirements Ph.D. or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in data science or bioinformatics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency with data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
Strong experience in handling and analyzing large-scale biological data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams in a remote environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
