Our client is seeking a meticulous AI Ethics & Compliance Officer to join their AI & Emerging Technologies department in Kimberley . This role is critical for ensuring that all AI development and deployment activities adhere to ethical standards, legal regulations, and company policies. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust governance frameworks that promote responsible and trustworthy AI. This is a vital position for an individual passionate about navigating the ethical complexities of artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce AI ethics policies and compliance procedures.
Monitor AI systems and processes for adherence to ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and audits related to AI ethics and data privacy.
Collaborate with legal, engineering, and product teams to integrate compliance and ethical considerations into the AI lifecycle.
Stay abreast of evolving AI legislation, ethical standards, and industry best practices.




Provide training and guidance to employees on AI ethics and compliance matters.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Law, Ethics, Policy, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, ethics, or legal roles, with a focus on technology or AI.
Strong understanding of AI/ML principles and their ethical and regulatory implications.
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., POPIA) and AI-specific governance frameworks.
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable policies.
