Become a vital part of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Registered Nurse in the Acute Care for Elders unit at Richmond Hospital. This role focuses on comprehensive patient care, interdisciplinary teamwork, and enhancing the quality of life for elderly patients.
As a Registered Nurse, you will work directly within the Acute Care for Elders team. This position demands solid skills in geriatric care, critical nursing assessments, and effective patient advocacy. Your work will involve collaborative planning, teaching patients and families about health management, and maintaining documentation in line with BCCNM standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to elderly patients in acute settings
• Conduct assessments and plan effective care strategies
• Act as a patient advocate during treatment and discharge
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and document care
• Maintain clinical competence through continued education
Requirements:
• Current registration with BCCNM as a Registered Nurse
• Experience with acute and subacute elder patients
• Knowledge of geriatric pathophysiology and treatment
• Skills in nursing assessments and interventions
• Proficiency in documenting patient care accurately
