The Warranty Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day warranty tickets, preparing reports, driving parts and cost related analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer warranty agreements and requirements.
Track incoming warranty returned parts ensuring that customer response timing requirements are being met.
Assist in swift implementation of containment actions, engaging necessary Engineering or Manufacturing personnel.
Work with a team to generate problem solving reports (8D, 5Y, Fishbone, Is/Is not, etc.) that may be shared with internal or external customers, and be capable to engaging relevant functions into problem solving, such as Quality, Engineering etc
Work directly with customers to report, problem solve and help reduce warranty concerns with end users of Magna produced products.
Generate warranty presentations for management and customers to increase awareness, establish priorities and get buy-in on appropriate actions.
Guide Warranty Technicians to determine proper warranty analysis methods and review results.
Participate in CIP (Continuous Improvement Processes) activities. May work on projects involving cost reduction, warranty reduction, or evaluation of recent equipment, etc.
Maintain customer charges trackers,
analyse debit notes be a decision maker for those charges acceptance/rejections within requirements set
Develop and Maintain troubleshooting Work Instructions, Provide trainings for other technicians
Support with any other assignments in Quality Assurance Laboratory
Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree
Experience
Minimum 1.5 years of relevant engineering and/or hardware/software troubleshooting/development experience
Knowledge of OEM warranty systems including PRAS+, EWT, WIS, PartLink, PRTS is a plus
Ability to communicate with external customers and suppliers, occasionally in times of high visibility/increased pressure.
Ability to lead a team and drive continuous improvement
Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with Customer and internal stakeholders
Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
Ability to travel occasionally to customer locations
