The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at UTSC seeks a full-time Assistant Professor starting July 1, 2027. We are interested in candidates with a PhD in Food Studies or a related field, showcasing research excellence and teaching capabilities. Ideal applicants will promote the interdisciplinary aspects of Food Studies through research and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
• Pursue innovative research on food and sustainability
• Teach graduate and undergraduate courses effectively
• Establish externally funded research at the Culinaria Research Centre




• Provide departmental and university service
• Emphasize experiential learning in the Culinaria Kitchen Laboratory

Requirements:
• PhD in Food Studies or related discipline
• Strong track record in research and teaching
• Evidence of interdisciplinary scholarship
• Commitment to equity and diversity
• Engaged in community-focused research
