Pursue a rewarding teaching role at the Step Up Step Down Program within the Sheldon Kennedy Centre of Excellence. This position focuses on High School Math and Science for youth facing significant mental health challenges.
This is a 1.0 FTE temporary teaching position, effectively replacing a leave of absence until December 31, 2026. The successful candidate will support students in all levels of Math and Science, contributing to a specialized mental health treatment program. Experience with mental health or trauma-informed care is beneficial for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach High School Math and Science effectively
• Support students with mental health challenges
• Collaborate with community partners for student progress
• Develop individualized learning plans
• Foster an inclusive and hands-on educational experience
Requirements:
• Previous teaching experience in Math and Science
• Understanding of mental health needs in youth
• Relevant qualifications in education
• Ability to develop solid relationships with students
• Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
