Upper School Science Teacher (LTO for the 2026/2027 Academic Year)
You are a dynamic, certified teacher with exceptional relationship, communication and teaching skills and a passion for educating boys. You are committed to professional growth and innovative classroom practices that inspire the growth and development of your students and colleagues. Responsibilities

Plan, implement and assess a modern, relevant and character-infused curriculum using creative teaching strategies and differentiated instruction;

Employ innovation and meaningful learning technology in teaching the units of study;





Leverage relational teaching and learning support strategies to establish a positive and engaging teaching and learning setting;

Act as a mentor to boys by providing support and guidance in group and one-on-one settings;

Utilize a variety of strategies to build strong and positive relationships with students;

Lead and participate in co-curriculars; athletics, robotics, arts, outreach and/or business

Integrate the School’s mission throughout all curricular and co-curricular activities;

Attend meetings and professional development opportunities;

Participate in supervision, duty and evening and weekend events as required.

The successful candidate will have

A BSc. or MSc. and a B.Ed. and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

A minimum of two years of experience teaching science

Senior qualifications in Science, with Biology and Chemistry specialization preferred

Proven experience teaching senior level science considered an asset

Previous Upper School teaching in a private/independent school an asset

Passion, creativity, and commitment to the role, team and School mission

Superior and demonstrated relationship building and relational teaching skills

Proven leadership in implementing an integrated Science curriculum





Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence, mentoring, and boy-centric teaching philosophies

Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills in service of smooth and collaborative working relationships with parents and colleagues

Strong desire to contribute to the co-curricular program and expertise as a coach in at least one sport is an asset

Growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to accept new perspectives

Compassion, and a desire to cultivate courage and nurture connection

A passionate team player and strong contributor to a coaching culture of growth and flourishing

A strong desire to become fully immersed in the School’s positive and progressive culture

Compensation will be based on placement on the Crescent Faculty Grid, ranging from $77,885-$103,850 for early career faculty and $109,695-$138,740 for faculty with 6+ years of relevant teaching experience for the 2026/27 academic year.
