The Junior Drafting Technologist will complete drafting of electrical distribution systems and preparing electronic (CAD) working plans for various residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Education & Qualifications
- 1-3 years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
- Experience drafting power distribution systems would be considered an asset.
- Electrical Design & Drafting Technology or Engineering Design Technology Diploma or CAD Certificate from a recognized technical institution.
- First aid and CPR certification would be considered an asset.
- Experience using MicroStation would be considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Draft underground and overhead power distribution systems using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Draft traffic signal, lighting and electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Utilize knowledge of design standards and procedures when completing drawings and deliverables to client and industry specifications.
- Assist in the creation of single line diagrams, electrical layouts, schematics and wiring.
- Conduct drawing reviews and corrections under the guidance of senior team members as needed including following QAQC processes.
- Assist the project team in delivering high quality client service as needed to deliver top quality solutions.
- Collaborate with senior designers and engineers for support and development on more challenging tasks.
- Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injury.
- Work safely and follow all rules and procedures including attending and participating in safety meetings and completing all required safety orientation and training.
- Completion of other relevant duties as required.

Position Conditions
