Enhance childrens learning experiences with Waterloo Region District School Board in Before and After School programs. Collaborate with a Designated Early Childhood Educator to support students from junior kindergarten to grade 6.
This position involves actively supporting play-based programming while ensuring a protected and engaging environment for students. You will promote positive interactions, encourage self-regulation, and facilitate both indoor and outdoor activities. Engagement with parents about their childrens development is vital.
Key Responsibilities:
• Follow guidance of the Designated Early Childhood Educator
• Foster positive interactions among children and caregivers
• Encourage self-regulation and communication skills in children
• Support play-based learning and child-initiated experiences
• Supervise indoor/outdoor play while assuring safety
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in supervising children safely
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C training
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required
• Willingness to uphold an inclusive, equitable environment
