About Our Client Our client is an established and growing organization in the tourism industry, with operations across Canada and internationally.

About the Opportunity We are seeking a Controller to lead the day-to-day Finance function and work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team.
This is a hands-on role that combines financial reporting, controls, team leadership, business analysis, and technology .
The Controller will play an important role in strengthening financial processes, improving profitability and reporting visibility, and identifying opportunities to leverage automation and AI.
The ideal candidate is a CPA who is comfortable working across the business, enjoys technology and process improvement, and wants to contribute beyond traditional accounting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Operations Lead month-end and year-end close, financial statements, and management reporting.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, treasury, and accounts payable.
Maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and general ledger integrity.
Coordinate external audits and required regulatory reporting.
Oversee multi-entity and multi-currency accounting, including foreign exchange transactions, currency translation, and intercompany activity.
Develop cost and profitability reporting to improve visibility into business performance.
Business Partnership & Analysis Partner with the CFO and leadership team on financial planning, analysis, modelling, and strategic initiatives.
Monitor financial performance and identify trends, risks,
cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improved profitability.
Provide clear financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
Partner with operational teams to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
Finance Systems & Automation Own Finance-related systems, reporting processes, workflows, and data integrity.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
Partner with Technology on system integrations, data flows, and reporting requirements.
Develop KPI and profitability dashboards that provide leadership with accessible financial insights.
Replace manual processes with efficient, documented, and auditable workflows.
Team Leadership Lead and support the Finance team, including workload management, coaching, mentorship, and development.
Establish a culture of accountability, accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience CPA designation required. 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience. 1–2 years of people management experience.
Robust experience with financial reporting, month-end/year-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
Hands-on experience with foreign currency accounting, FX transactions, currency translation, and multi-currency financial reporting.
Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions.
Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; Microsoft Business Central is an asset.
Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence/reporting tools.
Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, and emerging Finance technology.
Experience working with Technology teams on integrations, data flows, or systems implementation is an asset.
Experience with job costing, project costing, or unit economics is an asset.
Experience in tourism, travel, hospitality, or professional services is an asset.
