Qualifications and Experience High school graduation or the equivalent “Food Safe” Certificate – Level 1.

Culinary Arts (Qualified Cook Training) Certificate or equivalency.

Minimum of two years experience in food handling in food services environment equivalent or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Ability to operate all industry-standard kitchen equipment

Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and the operation of a cash register.

Ability to utilize personal computer.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain respect for and from students.

Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as a member of a team.

Assignment: This is a 10-month CUPE Local 606 temporary Part-time position, working 24 hours/week, Monday – Thursday 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM and Friday 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

Location: John Barsby Secondary.

Starting September 8, 2026, or as soon as practicable, through until December 18, 2026, or until the return of the incumbent.

Wage: $31.12 per/hr.,



with an additional 10.8% in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays.
