What – the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Accountant to join their Finance team for a 16-month maternity leave coverage position.

Reporting directly to the VP, Finance, the Lead Accountant will play an important role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end processes.

The Lead Accountant will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and supporting the preparation of monthly financial statements and audits.

This individual will work extensively with the general ledger,



complete month-end procedures, investigate and reconcile accounting discrepancies, and contribute to the overall accuracy and integrity of the company's financial information.

Given the company's manufacturing operations, the role will also require a strong understanding of cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory costing.

The Lead Accountant will also provide guidance and training to accounting and finance team members, collaborate with stakeholders across the business, and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies. Who – the Candidate: We are seeking candidates with at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment.

Qualified candidates will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation.

Experience with manufacturing cost accounting is particularly significant, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.





Candidates should have a solid understanding of how manufacturing operations impact financial reporting and business performance. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is sought, along with strong proficiency in accounting software and Excel.

The ideal candidate will also bring demonstrated experience leading accounting activities, providing guidance to junior team members, and collaborating effectively with stakeholders across an organization.

We are looking for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to process improvements will be important for success in this role.

Where: This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility to work from home while collaborating with the Finance team and other stakeholders.

How Much: The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually , commensurate with relevant accounting experience, manufacturing industry knowledge, and qualifications.
