**Job Title: Production Manager - Nights**
**Job Description**
The Production Manager
Nights oversees manufacturing operations in a high-performance, people-focused setting dedicated to becoming the most sustainable protein company on earth.

This role leads night-shift production activities in a unionized facility, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while fostering an inclusive culture where team members are empowered to learn, grow, and contribute their best.

The position requires strong leadership in a fast-paced, cold and wet production setting with exposure to raw meat and cleaning solutions, while maintaining high standards of operational excellence and employee wellbeing.
**Responsibilities**
Lead and manage night-shift production operations to ensure targets for safety, quality, efficiency, and output are consistently achieved.

Provide direct supervision to production teams, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and offering coaching and support.

Promote and enforce a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members follow established health, safety, and sanitation procedures.

Coordinate and oversee daily manufacturing activities to maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced, unionized environment.

Use strong leadership skills to motivate, engage, and develop team members, fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace.

Collaborate effectively within a unionized setting, maintaining positive working relationships and adhering to collective agreement requirements.

Identify operational issues and use problem-solving skills and sensory awareness to diagnose and troubleshoot production challenges.

Ensure production processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements related to protein manufacturing.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending and implementing changes that enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Monitor and manage resources on the night shift, including labor, equipment, and materials, to optimize production performance.

Communicate clearly with other shifts and departments to ensure alignment on production plans, priorities, and outcomes.

Model safe work practices, including proper handling of raw meat, exposure to strong smells and cleaning solutions, and adherence to lifting and ergonomic guidelines.

Participate in learning and development opportunities to strengthen leadership and operational skills and support career progression.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Production Manager or in a comparable production leadership role.
35+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.

Proven supervision experience overseeing production teams in a high-volume environment.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.

Experience working in a unionized environment and collaborating effectively within union frameworks.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cold and wet production environment with exposure to strong smells, blood products, and raw meat.

Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods, and to lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Ability to use senses (sight, sound, smell, touch) to diagnose and troubleshoot production problems.

Strong communication skills with the ability to talk, listen, and hear clearly in a busy production setting.





Solid understanding of production operations and manufacturing processes.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing facility with a cold and wet environment and exposure to strong smells from cleaning and caustic solutions, blood products, and raw meat.

Employees regularly stand and walk for extended periods, use their hands to finger, handle, and feel materials and equipment, and reach with hands and arms.

The work involves stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed, as well as frequent talking and hearing to coordinate activities and maintain safety.

Team members must use their senses to diagnose and troubleshoot problems on the production floor.

Some lifting is required, up to 50 lbs.

The setting is unionized and safety-focused, with procedures and equipment designed to protect employees while they perform physically demanding work.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Permanent position based out of Winnipeg, MB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $97697.60 - $97697.60/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
